The current measles outbreak is a reminder of the importance of the MMR vaccination.
MMR vaccination is usually given as a first dose around the age of 13 months and then again as a ‘booster’ jab before school at age three to five. If your child has already had the vaccine it should be recorded in their medical notes and in their personal health record (the `Red Book`).
It’s never too late for your children (or yourself) to ‘catch up’ with MMR vaccination if they missed it earlier. Children up to the age of 18 and adults without immunity (usually those born after 1970 who had no immunisation) should have a catch-up MMR vaccination.
Ask your GP or practice nurse if you need to discuss this further, or please contact reception to book an appointment for the immunisation if you or your child require it.

We welcome patients from within our practice area. This includes Tonbridge north and south of the railway line,as far as the top of Quarry Hill Road, Penshurst and surrounding villages, Bidborough, part of Hildenborough and villages to the east of Tonbridge such as Golden Green and Tudeley. Our practice area is subject to change, but currently excludes Hadlow and Southborough. Please telephone the surgery for further information (01732 770088).
If you would like to register with the practice, you will need to complete a Registration Form. You can pick one up from Reception at the Surgery, download one here or complete an on line pre-registration form.
You also need to complete a New Patient Questionnaire, download one here.
You need to bring all these completed forms to Reception along with 2 forms of ID - one a photo ID and the other giving a proof of address. You then need to book a 'New Patient Check' appointment with Helen Craddock, our Healthcare Assistant.
Once this process has been completed we will be able to register you as a permanent patient if you live within our practice area.
On joining the practice list you will be allocated a named doctor. We would encourage you to see this Doctor wherever possible, as we believe that continuity of care is helpful to both you and your Doctor.
If you wish to subsequently change to another Doctor, this is normally possible on discussion with the practice manager.
Once registered you will be able to attend either of our surgeries, Tonbridge or Penshurst.
Dispensing
If you live more than a mile from the nearest pharmacy we will be able to dispense your medications to you from our dispensary at our Penshurst Surgery.
