Over the coming months you will notice your receptionist begin to ask for a brief outline of your problem when you ring to book an appointment.
This is because we are introducing something called “Care Navigation”. It means we are training receptionists and clerical staff to help them help patients by identifying the most appropriate place for their care.
Through this specialist training, our practice team will be able to direct you to the most appropriate health clinician for your needs first.
Receptionists will never offer clinical advice or triage; this new way of working is about offering you the choice to see more appropriate professionals in the practice team or even somewhere else. If they can deal with the problem directly, it will often be quicker and means you may not need to see the GP at all. More Information...
Book face-to-face or remote appointments with your GP, nurse or clinician at a time that suits you.
Your details and information are protected by the highest standards of online security, so all you need to worry about is what to do with the spare time you’ve earnt.

We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can access advice and appointments online.
For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink. The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self care. If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required, you simply click on the request appointment link.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.

Problems booking online appointments?
Use the Patient Access Support Centre before you call us.
We aim to offer you a routine ten minute appointment within 2 days, although this may not always be with the doctor of your choice.
For really urgent problems that cannot wait for a routine appointment Emergency appointments are held every weekday (time of day may vary). You will be guaranteed a same day consultation, for one urgent problem only, with the duty doctor who may not be your own doctor. Please reserve this service for urgent problems only, and don’t use it to jump the queue for ordinary appointments.
