Anima
On Tuesday 3rd June 2025, we will be switching over to using Anima.
What is Anima?
Anima is an online consultation system (approved by the NHS) that allows you to submit medical queries without having to visit or call the practice. Anima is used by over 200 GP Practices in the UK.
Why are we moving to Anima?
Anima allows us to manage our appointments more effectively. We can make sure that patients whose need is more urgent get seen sooner. We can also offer more choice by sending booking links and allowing you to book the most convenient appointment. You do not need to download or install anything onto your computer, tablet or phone. As long as you can access the internet on your device, you can use Anima. All requests for appointments need to go through the Anima system.
We will no longer be able to book appointments over the phone. This is to ensure equity of access for all of our patients. All appointments will be offered according to clinical urgency and need. Your request will be handled in the same manner whether you complete the Anima request online yourself, or contact us via telephone.
Our reception staff at Tonbridge will always be available to assist you by inputting the required form for you. However, due to the confidential nature of questions that need to be asked, the staff at Penshurst will not be able to offer this service. You will need to call the surgery and we can help you.
How to use Anima
Go to www.warders.co.uk then click on the button titled 'Book an Appointment'. You will need to then choose whether your request is relating to an administrative issue or a clinical problem. There will then be a form to complete, which simply asks you about your symptoms. Once you have completed the form and answered the questions, your request is sent right to us. Requests are NOT dealt with on a first come first served basis. Our duty Doctor will triage the requests and respond accordingly.
As a patient you will benefit from:
Being able to log on to see the status and outcomes of your current and past requests. You can use the system in a number of languages. Your medical records will be more complete for the future. The practice responses will be clearer. You will receive a text message, or an email to let you know when the practice has responded (no more missing emails in the junk box). You can provide all the information that the practice needs without waiting on the phone.
What are the benefits to the practice?
We will see your request in a clear structured format. We will be able to save all the information about your requests in a structured way into your medical records. Your requests will be clear to understand at first glance and so the team will be able to allocate correct people, thus making our turn around more efficient. Your requests will come into our system with a Red, Amber, Green rating with clear information about what responses have trigger the rating. This will allow the team to focus on any urgent requests.
